Welcome to BJA's Fiscal Year 2009 Annual Report
Thank you for visiting BJA's web site dedicated to our Annual Report to Congress. This online version of the report was created to provide a wealth of information in an easily accessible and transparent format to keep our partners and community members informed on how we have used the funds entrusted to us to promote positive changes and advancements in local justice systems.
I would like to draw your attention to a few key features that we think make this site a valuable resource, and one that we believe you'll find very useful.
For those looking for an indepth description of all of our funding programs and efforts, visit the Table of Contents tab, available in the top navigation bar. This web page will connect you to specific information that we presented to the United States' Congress earlier this year.
Under the Success Stories tab located in the top navigation bar, you can read stories from our grantees and from communities across the nation about how they have been able to use their BJA funding to accomplish local goals and objectives to advance their justice system; and we'll continue to add to this section as well.
We encourage you to visit our Grants Database, under the Appendix & Data tab (also in the top navigation bar), which contains information on nearly 11,000 BJA grants awarded in 2009. These grants totaled nearly $4 billion in federal funding. This database, searchable in many forms, will allow you to look at all of the grants awarded by state, by federal funding program that BJA administers, and by fiscal year. The search results can then be exported in Microsoft Excel® format for use at a later time.
Once again, thank you for visiting BJA's online Annual Report. We look forward to hearing your comments and your feedback, not only about this web site, but also about the information presented in this Annual Report.
